The Inspection Saloon came out of a the withdrawal of a 6B Hastings DEMU Buffet Car 60755 in 1964 and was rebuilt as an Inspection Saloon which started in 1969. It was converted to be driven from either end whereas it can only be driven from one end currently. Its claim to fame was in 1981 when it was used to convey HRH The Prince of Wales, and his late wife Diana, to Romsey. The following year it was provided when the Pope travelled from Gatwick Airport to Victoria.

The kit has etched brass sides/ends/roof preshaped and the floor/chassis/bogies are from Replica Railways. The special seats come from the U.S.A. and all partitions curtains, nickel silver window bolections/roof vents/steps/and other pieces are provided in the kit parts. Price £60.00. Bulleid Inspection Coach and Generator Van complete with Generator to go inside visible through van window. This 2 vehicles were a foot to the foot scale train set for going around the region Inspecting things. It also travelled with full dining facilities available. The coach slept 12 people which included the attendant.
The kits come with all parts required apart from paint and transfers. The coach body is preformed and both are etched brass.
