The usage was for staff training films and at the same time a converted LSWR passenger luggage van was converted with a generator placed inside it so the unit was able to be self contained once taken to any part of the region.
The unit lasted some considerable time well into British Rail and finally withdrawn in 1973. Whilst in British Rail ownership it was repainted in 1964 with a Blue and White livery not quite Rail Blue and Grey. If you have any pictures or know of one in this livery I would be extremely grateful to hear about it from the contacts page so future modellers will know exactly how the livery was.
The model of both coach and van are in etched brass with bogies supplied and transfers which cover the Southern Railway period and British Railway period. These transfers are included in the kit which covers both models. A resin cast generator is also included to go into the van. Both models are also available in ready to run form with either 00 or EM wheel sets just state which type you would like with the kit.
The kit price covering both vehicles is £80.00
The ready to run price for both vehicles is £240.00
Postage at stamp cost to be added to the above.
